LOCAL WALKS, HIKES AND CLIMBS:
There are several ocean-side walks and hikes nearby as well as three mountains within a thirty minute drive. Some of the walks are through great birding habitat as well. We are glad to provide descriptions as well as maps and directions to find any of these local attractions.
Explore the rugged coast of Maine. There are many working harbors and beautiful views driving up the coast from our inn as well as some wonderful ocean-side hikes. See Cutler, one of the most photogenic villages in Maine and hike the Bold Coast Trail. We are happy to make suggestions and provide directions.
Roosevelt Campobello Island is 2 hrs. away. See Roosevelt’s compound, a small but interesting museum, the nature preserve and the famous East Quoddy lighthouse.
Visit St. Andrews by the Sea, a quaint village with many interesting shops, 25 foot tide swings and the wonderful Kingsbrae gardens, a little over 2 hrs. away in Canada.
